Leonardo DiCaprio is mocked by GMB’s Richard Madeley after denying Maya Jama dating rumours

Richard Madeley made a dig about Leonardo DiCaprio having never publicly dated a woman over 25 years old.

The Good Morning Britain host made a comment about the Titanic actor’s dating preferences amid rumours circulating that Leonardo DiCaprio has been spending time with Maya Jama.

The Love Island host, 28, from Bristol, and the Hollywood actor, 48, who met through mutual friends, have been rumoured to have sparked up a romance after a string of dates.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s love life was a hot topic of discussion on ITV’s Good Morning Britain earlier this week, after the movie star reportedly shut down the claims that he is dating Maya Jama.

Richard Arnold, the Showbiz reporter for GMB, informed ITV viewers that Leo and Maya were potentially a couple. Richard Madeley jumped in to make a dig at the Academy award-winning actor, who seems to only date women until they are 25 years old.

Richard said: "I didn’t know he did long-term relationships."

"Well, I think if you ripen beyond the age of 25, you might be entering a bit of a minefield when it comes to dating Leonardo DiCaprio," Arnold replied.

Leonardo and Maya Jama were first linked in February, when they reportedly spent two late nights out together in London. One of the occasions, was the BAFTA after party event, which took place at The Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone, and saw the likes of Viola Davis, Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx in attendance. It is believed that Maya and Leo left the party within minutes of each other, and this made people speculate that they may be involved in some way.

The following night, there was an event sponsored by British Vogue and Tiffany & Co, at the exclusive Annabel’s in Berkeley Square, in Mayfair, were they both were in attendance.

The following month, the rumoured couple were spotted in Paris, leaving the club, Le Piaf together. Then a few weeks later, the Love Island host travelled to New York for a work trip, where she allegedly also met up with Leonardo again.

Fans were quick to note that at the time of her stateside trip, Maya took to Instagram and posted a selfie alongside a big bouquet of roses

A source told The Sun: "Maya and Leo are in regular contact and have been on a string of dates. They have both recently come out of long-term relationships so neither of them are rushing into anything - they are having fun and seeing how it goes.”

“They live in different countries and Maya has had a long-distance relationship before and knows it’s tough, so they are taking things a day at a time," the source added.

Leo’s last long-term relationship was with Victoria’s Secret model Camilla Morrone, after being together for five years they split last year - shortly before she turned 25.

Since then he has been linked to model Gigi Hadid, who is 27, so it was a surprise for many as she was over the age of 25, and also a mother-of-one.

Maya was engaged to NBA star Ben Simmons, until last Summer, who she was first linked to back in Spring 2021. It was also speculated that Maya had rekindled her romance with her ex Stormzy, 29, after they were spotted getting cosy at events, these claims were however shut down by her representatives.
