She took to Instagram to share a campaign photo modelling bright red lipstick to share her excitement with her almost 3 million followers.

“SCREAMING! 😭 So excited to announce that I am the new global brand ambassador for @rimmellondonuki I grew up with this brand and have dreamed about saying the iconic “london look” line on tv one day and now it’s happening I don’t even have the words, following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Adwoa and more doesn’t even make sense in my mind but I am honoured,” Maya said.

The stunning presenter is said to have signed a multi-million pound deal to replace Kate Moss, who has been in the role for almost 20 years. Maya spent January wowing viewers as the host of Love Island with her iconic style and immaculate make-up.

She took over the role from Laura Whitmore, who spent two years in the role, after Caroline Flack stepped aside while awaiting court proceedings following being accused of assaulting her former partner. Laura had only planned to cover the role for one series but stayed for three, before leaving due to “certain elements of the show” such as travel, that she found difficult.

The star received more airtime than Laura and sent Aftersun ratings rocketing sky-high. With such amazing reviews it has been alleged that Maya may not return to her former role as the presenter of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star on BBC.

The new face of Rimmel London is no stranger to modelling as she previously modelled for Maybelline, Levi’s and Gap, as well as appearing on the covers of various fashion magazines such as Cosmopolitan.

When discussing her love of makeup with The Evening Standard, Maya boasted: “I always do my own eyeliner wing, no matter who does my make-up.”

She admits that she used to practise it in the school toilets at lunch time with her friends and it has certainly put her on the path to success.
