Teenager killed in A4174 crash named as mother leads moving tributes

Tributes have been paid to a 16-year-old moped rider tragically killed in a crash at the new A4174 through-about in Warmley on Easter Sunday.
The boy, named locally as Daniel, was sadly pronounced dead by emergency services at the scene of the incident at the Wraxall Road roundabout on the Bristol ring road.

Hide AdAvon and Somerset Police said the boy’s moped collided with a Ford Fiesta at the junction shortly before 10pm .
A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released under investigation.
Following Daniel’s tragic death, police put out an appeal for witnesses as the force continues to investigate the circumstances, while the boy’s family are being supported by trained officers.
And now, in memory of Daniel, his mother, Sam Davies, has asked people to use the hashtag #candle4daniel and #candlefordaniel when paying tribute to her son online.

Hide AdDozens of posts have since emerged, many with a picture of Daniel and a picture of a glowing candle.

Police are continuing to piece together the circumstances leading up the crash and are looking to speak to anyone who might seen what happened.
