Police are appealing for witnesses after a moped rider died in a crash on A4174 near Bristol.

Police were called to the Wraxall Road roundabout in Warmley after a car and a moped collided at about 9.45pm last night (Sunday, April 17).

Paramedics attended and did their best to save the moped rider but, tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “His family have been informed and are being supported by trained officers. Our thoughts go out to them at this time.”

A 27-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.

The road was sealed off overnight while police investigated, but reopened shortly before 5.30am this morning (Monday, April 18).
