In recent years, Love Island has been plagued by rumours of dwindling audiences and after the launch episode last week, it was reported that an average of 1.3million people tuned in to watch the ITV2 show. Then a further 400,000 streamed the dating show through the ITVX service on devices.
These figures are just over half of last year’s summer launch figures, as the first show in 2022 gathered an average viewership of 2.4 million. It was later revealed that Love Island’s viewing figures reached a total of 3 million fans across all devices.

That’s what happens when you make a frequent copy every single season… It’s boring now - there’s so much they could do, but they don’t.”Whilst another added: “Love Island is too boring man 95% of it is just meaningless conversation.”
Love Island continues every weekday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.
