Carol Vorderman has divided I’m A Celebrity… South Africa viewers after demonstrating an annoying habit on Wednesday’s show.

The former Countdown star, 62, who lives in Bristol, sparked a debate about her distinctive laugh after a number of fans took to Twitter admitting that they find it endearing, whilst others threatened to switch off the show.

"Carol Vorderman’s laugh!! I don’t know whether to love it or hate it. I do know if I was having a bad day and was in a bad mood it’s the last thing I’d want to hear though lol,” one said.

Another gushed: "I adore Carol. She seems like such fun and such a good time. LOVE her laugh.”

"OMG Carol’s laugh and the way she screeches! Love love love her," a third added.

However, others claimed they were so irritated by Carol’s laugh that they had considered turning their TV off.

One viewer tweeted: “Can’t hear any of the other contestants over Carol’s PAINFUL laugh. Almost switched off."

Another wrote: "Gosh Carol Vorderman is so loud. I never noticed before.” A third agreed, commenting: "Her laugh is so annoying! She literally screams."

Carol Vorderman previously appeared on the popular ITV show in 2016. She returned to screens earlier this week alongside Janice Dickinson, Helen Flanagan and her 2016 former ‘Jungle Son’ Jordan Banjo.

Wednesday’s episode saw the arrival of 2017’s Queen of the Jungle, Georgia “Toff” Toffolo, who took on the gruesome Hell Hole challenge, before entering the main camp with eight stars.

Meanwhile the two other new arrivals, Myleene Klass and Andy Whyment were banished to the smaller Savannah Scrub camp, with just rice and beans.

The All Stars series of I’m A Celebrity was filmed at the Kruger National Park last September, so all the contestants have been able to watch themselves on the show as it airs on a nightly basis on ITV.

Carol has been taking to Instagram live immediately after every episode, allowing fans to ask questions about anything I’m A Celebrity related.

Tonight’s episode of the show will see who Toff chose from the main camp to replace her in the smaller Savannah Scrub camp. The other new arrivals, Myleene and Andy, will also be taking on a trial, called ‘Up to your neck in it,’ which will see them standing in large Vuvuzelas, which will then be filled with all sorts of critters.

I’m A Celebrity...South Africa continues every night on ITV, at 9pm
