Carol Vorderman has responded to a “cheeky” question about her unconventional love life.
The former Countdown star, 62, who lives in Bristol, was joined by her son Cameron King, 26, on Instagram live for a Q&A session after the launch of I’m A Celebrity...South Africa.

Hide AdShe seemed visibly shocked as a fan took the exchange as an opportunity to quiz her about the romantic arrangement she has with “special friends.”
Carol paused and responded: “No, I don’t have any special friends with me tonight.”
She then burst into laughter as she turned to look at Cameron, who is her youngest child from her marriage to ex-husband Patrick King, and has been watching the show with her.
Carol scolded the Instagram user who chose to quiz her on the personal subject.
“Cheeky monkey!” she added.

Hide AdCarol had taken to Instagram Live after her debut on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa with the intention of discussing her first Bushtucker trial, in which she had to jump off a terrifyingly-high platform and retrieve a code to take a star back for camp.
The former Countdown star has previously been very open about her "five special friends" and claimed to prefer their company to pursuing a conventional monogamous relationship.
She told Daily Mail’s You Magazine that her two children, daughter Kate, 30, and son Cameron, have met most of her “special friends” before.
Carol said: “I’m continuing with that system and it’s working very well. One’s been a friend for 11 years, one for seven. My kids know most of them.

Hide Ad“The goal of my life is to be happy, not to be in love. I just find people interesting and life interesting. And you can get to a stage where you choose which bits you enjoy.”
She added: “You can’t be in your 30s, because you’re making your way in your career, you’re beholden to bosses, and all those sorts of things. But in your 60s…”
