I’m A Celebrity’s Fatima Whitbread has teased that she and fellow campmate Carol Vorderman could be considering an on-screen reunion after becoming “besties” on the ITV show. Former Countdown star Carol, 62, who lives in Bristol, took part in the All Star edition of the reality show, which saw its most popular contestants from over the years come together to compete for the first ever I’m A Celebrity ‘Legend’ crown.

The series finale aired just a few days ago, but campmate Fatima, 62, has already been discussing her future opportunities with new best friend Carol. During a recent appearance on ITV’s Lorraine, Fatima, discussed how close the campmates became  in South Africa.

Fatima, who previously went into the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Australian jungle in 2011, told Lorraine that she believes she now has a friendship with the Countdown star that will stand the test of time.

The Olympian told Lorraine Kelly: "Me and Carol, we are besties. It was an amazing experience with Carol.” She continued: "Always up at 6 o’clock in the morning, training together and we sort of connected from the word ‘go’.

She added: “And to be honest Lorraine, Carol and I would ideally love to do a programme together - two girls, going around in campervans, raking on challenges at our age. I mean, who wouldn’t want to do that?"

Lorraine said: "Women in their prime, doing amazing things! Thelma and Louise-ing all over the globe." Fatima high-fived the presenter, as she said: "This is the whole thing. We could do extreme challenges together. Girl power."

After watching the interview, many fans took to Twitter to reveal that they would be keen to see Carol and Fatima taking on a travel show. One fan wrote: "Great interview & absolutely love your top Fatima - you really suit it! Well done on your South African adventure & hope to see you and @carolvorders taking on the world in the future!"

Another viewer wrote: "Seeing Fatima Whitbread talking about being active and up for it at her age is a great inspiration! Would love to see @FatimaWh1tbread and @carolvorders touring, showing us all how to live and be happy x"

Although Carol and Fatima developed a strong friendship in camp, Carol has also revealed the campmate who she didn’t get on very well with. She told The Mirror that she found it difficult to form a bond with American supermodel, Janice Dickinson, who the Countdown star accused of “playing the reality TV game.”

Fatima finished in third place, after the final trio took on a bushtucker trial where they had to sit in a chair with a transparent plastic sphere over their heads and their hands and feet inside boxes that slowly filled up with critters. They then had to count to what they thought was six minutes, and when ready push a button.

Jordan Banjo finished the trial the closest to six minutes, whilst Myleene soon followed. The last two then took on a gruelling eating challenge. Myleene Klass was victorious after eating fermented eggs, pig snouts, 60 mouse tails and 40 spoonfuls of stinky tofu, during the last moments of the final face-off.
