Carol Vorderman was eliminated from the I’m A Celebrity…South Africa camp on Thursday night alongside Paul Burrell, following a tense eviction trial. The former Countdown star, 62, who lives in Bristol, has narrowly missed out on a place in the final, with Phill Tuffnell, Myleene Klass, Jordan Banjo and Fatima Whitbread remaining in the competition.

On Thursday night, we saw the campmates take on another survival trial, Vile Vineyard, which included the celebrities popping fish eyes in their mouths and depositing the contents into a wine glass. It also included the retrieval of stars in barrels filled with snakes and other critters.

All but Carol and Paul managed to complete the challenge in time, so they were booted from the camp. The pair, who also took part in another trial earlier that day, admitted that they were disappointed but were both thrilled they got their opportunity to return to the jungle.

I’m A Celebrity fans took to Twitter to express their sadness that Carol wouldn’t be crowned Legend, by the spin-off version of the show. One wrote: "Going to miss Carol, she’s been amazing!!"

Whilst another wrote: "Commiserations Carol and Paul :( you have been such amazing campmates and did really well in your trials well done to both of you!"

"All the best to you Paul, I enjoyed the screaming, it's all entertainment. Love carols laugh she cackles," a third added. A fourth took to Twitter, praising the Countdown star, saying:  "Oh noooooo, Carol! My winner for sure, I’m sad about that, absolutely loved her. Personality for days & what an iconic laugh. They both looked absolutely exhausted tbf, bless them #ImACeleb #Imacelebrity."

After Carol left the camp, she did not shy away from candidly revealing which of the campmates she got on with and which ones she didn't. In particular, referring to how she struggled to bond with Janice Dickinson.

Carol said: “I got on well with everyone except for Janice. I didn’t like Janice. She would sit on a bed and just basically screech all day and I don’t like that.”

The star said everyone was 'kind' to her in the first few days before cracks began to show, when Andy Whyment clashed with Janice on the pre-recorded show.

She continued: “I couldn’t have been more encouraging but then she just started playing the reality TV game, which is not my scene at all. So she would just sit there and sound like a bloody seagull.”

Carol also claimed that Janice wouldn't do any of her jobs and would simply sit in her bed, which prompted the Countdown star to head to the Bush Telegraph, and have an explosive rant about her co-star.

Paul Burrell spoke about the alleged rift with the former supermodel, and claimed that she has left their I'm A Celebrity South Africa WhatsApp group. He also admitted that he had a ‘rumble’ with Janice, after she 'threw him under the bus' when it was discovered he had brought coffee into camp.

The former royal butler claimed that he had been giving her a cup of coffee every morning, but said she stayed completely silent when the issue of contraband came up in the camp. Paul told The Sun: 'When it was about saving herself she had plenty to say. Janice was rude to everybody, she doesn't pull any punches.'

The remaining four campmates then went on to take part in the South African version of Celebrity Cyclone, which saw them pelted with water, and inflatable balls, as they tried to make their way up the hill to secure their four stars.

I'm A Celebrity...South Africa continues every night on ITV, at 9pm.
