Easton flat fall: Police update on 25-year-old woman’s death

Police have been given more time to quiz a murder suspect over the death of a young woman who fell from a huge block of flats in Bristol.
Magistrates have granted a warrant of further detention to allow officers to question the 43-year-old man further.

Hide AdHe was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday (Tuesday, April 19) following an incident in the early hours that saw a 25-year-old woman fall to her death from the 13th floor of Lansdowne Court in Easton. A forensic post-mortem examination is being carried out today.
The woman has not yet been named as formal identification is yet to take place, though police say her family have been informed of her death and are being kept updated by trained liaison officers.
Ch Insp Deepak Kenth, leading the murder investigation for Avon and Somerset Police, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who has provided information to us so far, your help is very much appreciated.”
Ch Insp Kenth also thanked local residents in the ‘close-knit community’ for their patience and understanding while the investigation continues.

Hide AdPatrols have been amped up around Lansdowne Court, which is currently sealed off, to provide reassurance.
Residents are said to be shocked by the death of the woman, who they described as a ‘lovely and smart girl’.
