Arrest made after woman falls to her death from block of flats in Easton

Police have launched an investigation into the death of a woman who died after falling from a block of flats in Bristol.
Officers were called out to Easton in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, April 19) after a resident raised the alarm.

Hide AdThey discovered a woman at the bottom of a block of flats at Lansdowne Court who had serious injuries ‘consistent with a fall from height’.
Paramedics did their best to save her life but tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Ch Insp Deepak Kenth, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: “A full investigation has already begun and our priority will be to establish how and why this terrible incident happened.

Hide Ad“An arrest has been made as part of these ongoing enquiries and we can confirm the arrested man and the woman who died were known to each other.
“We’re in the process of notifying the woman’s next of kin and they’ll be given the full support of specialist family liaison officers.”
Ch Insp Kenth added that extra patrols were underway to provide reassurance to the close-knit communuty: “We know a tragedy like this will cause a great deal of concern to those living nearby.”
