Murder investigation launched after ‘lovely’ woman dies falling from ‘13th floor’ of block of flats

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died after falling from a block of flats in Easton in Bristol in the early hours of this morning (April 19).
Officers were called to the incident at Lansdowne Court at 12.30am by a resident - police say the woman was found serious injuries consistent with a fall from the large tower block.

Hide AdThis lunchtime, police have the flats taped off with white uniformed officers seen at the scene as a full investigation takes place.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the woman’s murder. Avon and Somerset Police say the two people knew each other.
Chief Insp Deepak Kenth said: “A full investigation has already begun and our priority will be to establish how and why this terrible incident happened.”
At the scene, people living in the flats have spoken about the tragedy, and said the woman fell from the 13th floor of the 16 floor building.

''We think it happened last night at 12:30am but from what I know nobody seems to know what has happened yet.''
A neighbour said the victim was aged 23 or 24 and was ‘such a smart and lovely girl’ from Wales.
They said: “The girl was about 23 or 24 from Wales. She was such a smart and lovely girl. I cant believe she’s gone - what a waste.

Hide Ad“I saw flashing flights and it was a man walking home who saw her falling and immediately called the police.''
Police say they are in the process of notifying the woman’s next of kin, who will be given the full support of specialist liaison officers.
Ch Insp Kenth said: “This is a close-knit community and we know a tragedy like this will cause a great deal of concern among those living nearby.
‘’We’ll be putting on additional patrols to give reassurance, allay any worries and to provide a visible presence in the local area, especially while investigative activity continues in and around the scene.”
