10 photos of the beautiful city farm in Bristol tucked away off a busy high street

It’s a a perfect getaway from the stresses of city life

Standing on the busy East Street in Bedminster, it’s hard to imagine a beautiful city farm even exists in the area - but a short walk up Philip Street and visitors are outside the gated entrance to the nature paradise which is Windmill City Farm.

This 4.5-acre green space is simply a delight. Inside, people of all ages are welcomed into a world of community gardens, noisy farm pens, play areas and gorgeous picnic areas.

And for those who forget to bring their own food, there’s also a cafe selling fresh and healthy food at a good price. On Friday evenings there is even a tap room run by Bristol-based nano brewer, Bruhahah.

Having visited St Werburghs, and Hartcliffe City Farm, we paid a visit last week to find out what all the fuss was about - and we’ll certainly be back. Here are several pictures from our sunny visit:
