Queens Park Rangers are set to complete the signing of AFC Bournemouth forward Jamal Lowe. Lowe is set to join the Hoops on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Lowe was linked with a move to Bristol City earlier this week by talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook as well as Millwall and Norwich City, but it is the West London side that have seemingly won his signature. The 28-year-old is a man in demand after seemingly being made available for transfer by the Cherries.

Four-time-capped Jamaica international Lowe has made just four appearances for Bournemouth this season, playing once in the Premier League. He was an unused substitute in the FA Cup defeat suffered to Championship outfit Burnley on Saturday, which paved the way for his departure to the club that won the race for his signature.

London News Online report that QPR are set to sign the forward and that he will become the first signing under former Blackpool manager Neil Critchley. They understand that Lowe will spend the rest of the 2022/23 season at Loftus Road.

It is understood that Lowe was not a genuine target for City and that it was more speculation, with the Robins included in a four-team list of suitors but never a genuine contender. The club still needs to move players off of their books if they are to conduct any transfer business in the January transfer window. Club captain Daniel Bentley has been linked with a loan moveto rivals Stoke City, meanwhile a £25m price tag has been played on England Under-20 midfielder Alex Scott.

City lost out on their long-term transfer target Reda Khadra yesterday after he joined Birmingham City on a season-long loan. Khadra was wanted in the summer before he joined Sheffield United, and after his loan was cut short at Bramall Lane, there was a slight opportunity he could join City but the Blues have pipped them to him. Khadra could make his debut for the Midlands side this Saturday when they face Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
