Bristol City are already hard at work preparing for the new season with pre-season training beginning to ramp up.

The Robins didn’t take the step forward they wanted to last season, again settling for a bottom-half finish, and Nigel Pearson will know he needs to achieve more in the coming campaign. New signings will be important to achieve that objective, and City have already made progress on that front, signing Jason Knight this week.

As the search for new signings continues, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Robins and their Championship rivals.

Scott offers

City are said to be standing firm over their valuation of star youngster Alex Scott.

According to Bristol Live, the Robins have already received two offers for Scott, rejecting both. It’s claimed City rejected an offer from Wolves ahead of receiving a proposal from AFC Bournemouth. The latest offer is said to be worth £15million plus add-ons, falling short of the club’s £25million valuation.

Wolves are said to have offered a straight up £18million, but that offer was also rejected, according to the report, with City refusing to budge this summer.

Latest Leeds exit

Leeds United look set to offload another star this week amid a reshaping of their squad following relegtation.

Accordingt to Sky Sports Italy, Rasmus Kristensen is headed to Italy for a medical with AS Roma this week ahead of a proposed loan move. The full-back only arrived last summer, but he is not the calibre of player who is going to be playing Championship football, and Leeds could also do with saving on his wages.

Kristensen looks set to be, at least temporarily, linking up with Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital.

Warnock striker admission

“I just like getting everybody together really. We haven’t got the biggest squad, we haven’t got the financial output that these top clubs have got – the lads coming down and coming up and what have you,” the veteran boss has said.

“We’ve got to [make up] for that with the team spirit really. We did that last year, we played some good football at good times last year. I want us to be a little bit more on the front foot this year if I’m honest, but that comes with confidence and getting the right players in. We do need a couple of strikers to supplement the squad – or forward players, anyhow, which we will be looking at. We are a bit thin on the ground there.”
