Next up for Nigel Pearson’s side is a clash against Portsmouth on Tuesday, followed by games against Plymouth Argyle, Forest Green Rovers and Exeter City.

Here is the latest news coming out of the club today....

Goalkeeper heads out on loan

Goalkeeper Will Buse has joined Taunton Town on loan again for next term. The teenager joined the non-league club last September and was a hit with them last season.

He was rewarded with a new one-year deal with Bristol City last month and has now been given the green light to head out the exit door again to get some more experience under his belt.

The stopper has said, as per Taunton’s website:

“I’m happy to be back. I really enjoyed my time with the club last season and now it’s another new challenge in the National League and one I’m really looking forward to. We have the experience and talent in the squad to compete at the next level so I’m hoping for another successful season.”

Their Head of Football, Rob Dray, added:

“Watching Busey literally grow and develop last season was great to see and he was a huge reason we did so well. For someone so young he was superb and I’m sure he will progress further in the National League. Many thanks to Meaks and Bristol City for getting this over the line.”

Buse is a product of the Robins’ academy and has risen up through the youth ranks.

Triple signing for City Women

Bristol City Women have been busy bolstering their ranks ahead of the new season under Lauren Smith.

The 2022/23 FA Women’s Championship fixtures have been released and the club has brought in have made the triple signing of Olivia Clark (Coventry United) defender Chloe Mustaki from Shelbourne and Jodie Hutton from Aston Villa, all joining on a one-year contract.

Rudoni latest

Jack Rudoni, who is currently on the books at AFC Wimbledon, is a player who has been linked with Bristol City in this transfer window.

The Sun reported last month that Pearson’s side had a £1million bid rejected for the attacking midfielder.

His current club are holding firm at the moment but Football Insider report that Sunderland, Luton Town and Huddersfield Town retain an interest and are expected to come back in with improved offers before the end of the window.
