They have recently faced Cheltenham and Portsmouth in pre-season friendlies and will look ahead to Plymouth Argyle, Forest Green, Exeter City, Bournemouth and Hull City before their 2022/23 season begins.

The Robins were able to prevail over Cheltenham, winning 2-0 but were held to a draw by Danny Cowley’s men in yesterday’s (Tuesday 12 July) fixture.

City have already enjoyed a busy transfer season which has seen the arrivals of Stefan Bjic, Kal Naismith, Kane Wilson and Mark Sykes.

However, Nigel Pearson will hope that these are far from the final signings from City as they hope to strengthen their squad ahead of August’s Championship start.

As the Robins prepare for their upcoming pre-season fixtures, the transfer season is well underway and former Bristol City star Kieran Agard is the latest to be looking for a move.

Kieran Agard to Hartlepool

Agard had been with MK Dons for over five-years making over 150 appearances for the outfit but his form dipped towards the end of his stay and he moved on to Plymouth after failing to make it into the starting XI.

He then made his first league game appearance after 650 days when he contributed to Plymouth Argyle’s 2-1 win over Burton Albion but he was again found himself out of contention.

In January, the 32-year-old was moved on to Doncaster and made just eight apperances in the second half of the season as his side were relegated to League Two.

Recent reports from the Doncaster Free Press have now suggested that the forward has become a target for Hartlepool’s boss Paul Hartley who is desperate to strengthen his attacking options.

Pools are currently short when it comes to attackers after the departures of players such as Luke Molyneux and Omar Bogle.

The winger/forward joined Bristol City back in 2014 coming from Rotherham United. He began his career with Arsenal and Everton youth sides before being sent out on loan to Peterborough United and Kilmarnock.

From there, he joined Yeovil Town and The Millers before heading back down to the West Country.

During his time at City, Agard won the 2015 League One and Football League Tropy titles. He also scored 15 goals in 64 league appearances.

After two years with the Robins, Agard moved on to MK Dons where he made his biggest impact of his professional career.

Who else looks to move on from Ashton Gate?

Tyreeq Bakinson may soon be shown the door out of Ashton Gate after not being given a squad number for the 2022/23 season.

The midfielder fell out with Pearson after signing a new contract and was soon sent on loan to Ipswich Town which an option to buy included in the deal.

His current loan side have not taken up this deal but Ipswich’s manager Kieran McKenna refused to rule out signing the 23-year-old later in the transfer season.

Bakinson is also not on the pre-season training camp with the rest of his squad and it would appear he must now await to hear his fate as he looks to move on elswhere.
