The richest people in the South West have been revealed in the Sunday Times Rich List 2023, which is published in full this Sunday. The new edition’s South West top five features three people from the Bristol region.
The list charts the wealth of the 350 richest people in the UK and is based on identifiable wealth, including land, property, other assets such as art and racehorses, or significant shares in publicly quoted companies.

2. Sir James Dyson - Ranked top in South West
The billionaire tech innovator’s valuation remains unchanged at £23 billion this year, and is ranked 5th on the overall Rich List. Steep shipping costs, the microchip shortage, lockdowns in China and high commodity prices all sucked power from the Dyson Group during 2022. 3. John Christodoulou - Ranked second in the South West
Landlord John Christodoulou is listed as this year’s second wealthiest in the Southwest at £2.45 billion. The Cyprus-born property man’s family fled the island in 1974 after the Turkish invasion. He bought a flat in Finchley, north London, aged 19 and now owns swathes of Canary Wharf and Islington | Youtube

4. Stephen Fitzpatrick - Ranked third in the South West
Founded the fast-growing energy giant Ovo — is this year’s highest climber in the South West. His wealth is estimated at £2.212 billion - up £1.58 billion, up £872 million from last year.
