‘Sounded like an explosion’: People report loud rumbling noise across Bristol
A loud noise sounding like ‘an explosion’ was heard by many people across Bristol last night (November 26), who took to Twitter to share what they had heard.
The social media channel was used by people to describe the noise, heard between 9pm and 9.30pm, and offer up suggestions as to what caused it.

Hide AdPeople also reported where they heard it from - in the city centre, Clifton, Redfield, Fishponds and Bradley Stoke.
One Twitter user wrote: “What the hell was with a loud bang in Bristol about an hour ago?
“Reports are of an explosion but I am unsure specifically to. And that bang sounded quite loud, but me and my family have no clue what it was.”
Another said: “Sounds of explosion/rumbling over Bristol earlier this evening. So, so odd. Sounded like artillery. Anyone hear it?”

People also came up with suggestions as to what caused it, with some saying thunder or strong winds as Storm Arwen intensified last night.
There were also people who said it could have been caused by fireworks.
