Storm Arwen is set to hit Bristol on Saturday, and the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.

The weather warning comes into action as soon as the clock hits midnight on Saturday, and will remain in place until 6pm.

The winds, according to the Met Office, are expected to reach winds of up to 46mph, and the temperature will remain low throughout the day, too.

The Met Office stated that: “Storm Arwen will bring high northerly winds southwards across Scotland during Friday afternoon and evening, the highest winds then becoming confined to northeast England early Saturday

“Gusts of 65 to 75 mph are expected in coastal areas with gusts in excess of 75 mph in a few places.”

From Saturday through to Monday, the Met Office says: “Very windy and cold on Saturday, with sunshine and showers, wintry over hills. Drier on Sunday with much lighter winds. Cloudy with rain at times on Monday and less cold.”

Here’s your hour-by-hour breakdown of the weather in Bristol when the yellow weather warning is in place for Bristol on Saturday.

00:00 - 01:00 - When the yellow warning takes place, expect gusty winds and light winds, the same for 1am. Wind speeds are expected to be around 40mph, with a low chance of precipitation. The temperature will be 4C between midnight and 2am.

02:00 - 04:00 - This is the period when the strong winds really come in to play. Expect wind speeds of around 46mph for this time frame on Saturday, Along with the strong wind, light showers are also expected too, but it won’t be anything too heavy. Temperature to remain at 4C.

05:00 - 06:00 - Just prior to sunrise, the showers will stop but the strong winds will remain in place. The temperature will drop ever so slightly, at 3C. A low chance of rain and visibility is forecast as good, eliminating the chance of thick fog to kick the weekend off.

07:00 - 09:00 - As the sun rises, and we get further in to the morning, the winds will ease up a tad, but remain gusty, and the speed of the winds will remain high. Temperature to remain low at 3C in this period, with the wind speeds still above 40mph. Low chance of rain.

10:00 - 11:00 - The dark clouds that greeted Bristol as the day starts will disperse at 10am, with sunny intervals. A low chance of rain at 10am as the we do see some sun. A slight increase in the temperature as it reaches 4C and wind speed remains at 41mph.

12:00 - 14:00 - Gusty winds and sunny intervals in this time period. A slight rise in temperature again as it will be 5C between 12 and 2pm. Wind speed expected to be at 42mph, with a low chance of rain.

15:00 - 16:00 - Gusty winds with sunny intervals again. The visibility will be good. Wind speed will drop from 42mph to 41mph, with a low chance of rain again. In this time period, expect more sun than clouds. Temperature remains at 5C, shortly before sunset.

17:00 - 18:00 - As we edge closer to the end of the weather warning, and as the sun sets, the weather will be cloudy. A light breeze and fresh breeze, as the wind speed almost halves and will remain normal at around 23mph at 5pm. A slight temperature drop to 4C, and despite the clouds, a low chance of rain.

From 6pm, the wind speed will continue to drop and will be at 16mph at 10pm.
