Japanese soul food specialist Lonely Mouth will take over Bedminster’s Kitchen by Kask venue for a two-month residency.

No stranger to Bristol, Lonely Mouth previously had popular residencies at The Plough and Volunteer Tavern.

Drawing inspiration from her time spent in Tokyo, Lonely Mouth will be bringing ultimate vibes and masterful cuisine to Kitchen by Kask throughout May and June.

Olivia said: “This opportunity at Kitchen by KASK has come at the perfect time. I’ve put so much time, effort, creativity and love into Lonely Mouth and this is the ideal chance to concentrate on the dishes that make me nerdy about food.

“The menu is short, so the effort and ingredients in each dish will be great quality, and I’ll have time to experiment with specials and new dishes.”

Charlie Taylor, owner of Kitchen by Kask, said: “This is going to be the longest residency we’ve had, and with that comes an amazing opportunity to play around with new flavours to find ever-more interesting food and drink pairings.

“Just as exciting is the opportunity to change up the customer experience, working with Olivia on elements such as the interiors and the music to create a real Lonely Mouth takeover. This isn’t just a pop-up, this is effectively a new restaurant on North Street: spring is here and brings exciting changes!”

The menu will include ramen, fried sweetbread with furikake and egg yolk sauce, and beef tartare oshizushi with nori crackers. There will also be plenty of vegan or vegetarian options.

Throughout the two-month residency, Kask will experiment with a range of wines, beers, ciders, sake, spirits and soft drinks, served as tasting flights to complement Lonely Mouth’s signature small plates and one-off specials.

Bookings for the Lonely Mouth residency are now live on the Kitchen by KASK website.
