Maya Jama stuns in a ruffled orange two-piece and gold hoops as she gives fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the Love Island villa ahead of the summer series launch. The Bristol-born star appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday and revealed a secret twist in a show first.

The Love Island host chatted with presenters Ed Balls and Charlotte Hawkins live from Mallorca about the upcoming 10th series of the show. Maya, 28, said fans will be given the chance to vote for which contestants will be paired up before the new summer series launches. She explained: "A very big surprise, the public has all the power. So for the first episode, you guys are going to decide who couples up, you vote and we listen."

She added: "A big decision to make, as soon as you see them. You’ll see them as soon as they get announced this morning. Then you can kind of make your notes if you want. Start jotting down who you think should be together and when it starts, off you go."

Maya tactfully shared the gift that Ed Balls had sent her which was a heart-shaped cushion with his face embroidered on the front. She admitted that: “I actually slept with it last night” before he proudly announced that: “I have, in some sense made it to the Love Island villa. Someone is going to sit on me.” Both Maya and Charlotte swiftly moved on from the awkward gaff and started to discuss the weather in Majorca. The Love Island host reassured fans that although the dark clouds were looming, the temperature was “actually really warm”.

When asked how she was feeling about the upcoming summer series Maya replied: “I’m so excited, you know it has come around so fast because obviously we finished the winter series in March. Now it is like oh my god, summer is here already. I’m just excited to meet everyone and get stuck in.”

Charlotte Hawkins pressed the star for more information about this year’s contestants asking: “Can you give us any kind of hints as to who we are going to see and what kind of people are going to be in the villa this year?” The host remained tight-lipped, determined to keep the viewers guessing. Maya said: “No because then that takes away all the fun. Just keep your twitter or browser open from nine am.”

Keen to get involved Ed Balls asked Maya what the most romantic moment of the winter series was for her. Maya responded: “Romantic? Well I suppose the final week is always romantic because they are all in love and you have watched their journey and their final dates. That is the cutest bit but for me I prefer drama to romance if I’m honest.”

When questioned about how much fun it is being the Love Island host Maya revealed: “It’s great. It’s like a dream job for me and being back here so quickly I am like I can’t believe this is happening.”
