Man, 44, suffers serious head injury in late-night attack near College Green

A man is receiving treatment in hospital for a serious head injury after being attacked in Bristol city centre.

The 44-year-old man was assaulted in the College Green and Park Street area just after midnight on Saturday, November 27.

Avon and Somerset Police have thanked members of the public who came to the aid of the man before emergency services arrived.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains undergoing treatment.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He’s been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident or area at the time to get in touch.
