It’s not until you properly explore the area where you live that you start to find ‘hidden gem’ streets you haven’t spotted before.
Whether you’re living in the city centre or in the suburbs, there are plenty of tucked away cul-de-sacs and terraces waiting to be discovered.
Here are nine lovely Bristol streets most people have yet to spot unless they’re lucky to be calling it home already.

1. The Paragon, Clifton
From one side, The Paragon is a city landmark thanks to its distinctive canopies - one of which was controversially painted rainbow colours by one resident - but the street itself is discreet and tucked away with two acres of communal residents’ gardens directly opposite.
2. Somerset Street, Kingsdown
Kingsdown is home to several timeless roads, many with the original cobbles and street lamps. One of the best is Somerset Street with its stunning Georgian houses.
3. Armidale Cottages, Montpelier
A continuation of tucked away Picton Lane, just off Picton Street, even many of the locals in Montpelier don’t know this row of charming old buildings.
4. Vale Street, Totterdown
The steepest residential street in the country, Totterdown’s Vale Street has a gradient slope of 22 degrees and it’s so steep that residents have been known to tie their cars to the lamp posts.
