From a tiny piece of art down a narrow walkway to the first tree planted during a campaign in the 1970s (yes, it’s still standing), there were many things I learned while out on a walking tour of my hometown Bristol.
The Blackbeard to Banksy: the Ultimate Bristol Walking Tour took a group of us two miles around the city centre, with a helpful guide full of information leading the way.
The tour promised to teach people about Blackbeard’s favourite haunts, its stunning buildings and its incredible art. It starts at College Green every day, starting at 11.30am.
And one of the good things was, it was flat! Here here eight places I didn’t know existed in Bristol until I took the guided walk:

2. The Duel of Bristol
"The Duel of Bristol" is an oil painting mural by Irish artist Conor Harrington made using an art style from Italy's 1560s. Conflict is a common theme in his work and this piece appears to represent the conflict between Ireland and the UK, for example, in the Irish flag between the right figure's legs."
3. Clothed With The Sun
"Clothed With the Sun" in Broad Quay was painted by El Mac as part of "See No Evil" and features his partner Kim and her baby niece Madeline. He projected the photo onto the building to paint the outline and added more details after; he usually draws photographic images but was unable to complete the full detail of the image within the limited 4-day deadline.
4. Oldest pub in Bristol
The Hatchet Inn is Bristol's oldest pub and was frequented by Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. The front door was rumoured to be covered in human skin when it first opened to ward off evil spirits
