12 photos inside Bristol Beacon as the clock counts down to opening
The venue opens on November 30
The finishing touches are being applied to the newly-named Bristol Beacon venue, opening on November 30 - and we got a chance to go on a tour inside.
From the flooring being laid in the main Beacon Hall to the restoration in the Lantern Hall, the wraps are slowly coming off the £132m venue which will host moe than 200 gigs and concerts every year.
Operated by Bristol Music Trust, it will also provide the opportunity for young people through basement studios and a creative learning programme.
And so with just months to go with opening, we took a look inside:
9. Busts
The listed busts of the members of the Colston Hall Company who were behind the construction of the venue, formerly called Colston Hall
10. Crush Room sign
This historic sign for a crush room - thought to be a place where women had their dresses crushed down for seating - will remain on view
11. Restaurant
A restaurant with an outside plaza will be opened at the same time of the performances halls. It will be flexible, serving all types of food depending on the concerts on at the time. (Credit: Giulia Spadafora, Soul Media)
12. Opening November 2023
Bristol Beacon will open on November 30 - and already the venue has raised £1m in ticket sales for gigs ahead of opening its doors.
