The show, which is hosted by Sara Fox and Darren Harriot, will see the Bristolian eatery face off against four other independent kebab houses in the UK to be crowned the winner in this fast food showdown.

Here is everything you need to know about Hoba Kebab, including when the episode will air and how to watch it.

What is Hoba Kebab?

Hoba Kebab is a restaurant located in the city that uses locally sourced ingredients, widely known for producing tasty homemade kebabs.

It was first launched as a stall in 2017 that traded in a number of local food markets across Bristol, before taking over the kitchens of various pubs and bars.

Having since relocated to a permanent site, Hoba have been serving their Berlin-inspired locally sourced meats to Bristolians, typically accompanied by tahini, pickled onions, pickled cabbage and cucumber, all atop a Turkish flatbread.

Here are two examples of their more popular dishes:

  • Spicy Beef - grass-fed beef, house spices and fresh herbs, tzatziki and crispy onions
  • Flamin’ Chicken - chargrilled chicken laced with harissa mayonnaise, jalapenos and crispy onions

The restaurant also caters to vegetarians, vegans and those with gluten intolerances.

Where is the restaurant located in Bristol?

Initially a pop-up restaurant that served the local area, Hoba had long been situated at Kongs on Kongs Street, running a click and collect service whilst being available on apps such as Deliveroo.

However, owners of Hoba Kebab took the brave step to move to a permanent location in early 2022, now it can be found right in the heart of Bristol’s city centre.

The restaurant’s new site is the old Pizza Hut restaurant on St Augustine’s Parade - which had been left empty since it suddenly closed its doors in October 2021.

A location that is very nostalgic for Hoba, situated right in front of where the restaurant’s first ever market stall was located at the Harbourside in 2017.

The full address for Hoba Kebabs in Bristol is as follows: 23-25 St Augustine’s Parade, Bristol, BS1 4UL.

Who are the people behind Hoba Kebab?

The great minds behind the restaurant that has received rave reviews from customers is the couple team of Hope Bainbridge and Annie Faulkner.

Ms Bainbridge, 30, previously trained as a private chef in London, working in various restaurants before leaving the capital to chase her dream of opening her own food hub.
