Adelina Yard: where is Bristol restaurant from Great British Menu - and who is owner Olivia Barry?

Bristol’s Adelina Yard restaurant owner Olivia Barry - also known as Liv - is representing the South West of England as a Great British Menu 2022 finalist.

The finalists for the Great British Menu 2022 have been confirmed - and Bristol has  a representative.

Teams of passionate chefs are set to battle it out for a place on the top table this week, where they will serve their cuisine at an Alexandra Palace banquet in London.

This year’s theme for the final feast is ‘100 years of Great British Broadcasting’ to commemorate the first BBC Radio broadcast in 1922.

Who is Olivia Barry?

One of the eight remaining candidates is Olivia Barry, owner of Bristol restaurant Adelina Yard.

Growing up in a cooking-fueled family with an Italian heritage, food has been a huge part of Olivia’s daily life.

Through the influence of her chef grandfather, she took an intensive training course at Bournemouth College to hone her skills.

Olivia also took on a number of vital work experience opportunities in London, including working under renowned chef and Gordon Ramsey’s protegee Angela Hartnett OBE at Murano - a one Michelin star restaurant.

Returning to her home, Bristol, Oliva opened Adelina Yard with her partner Jamie Randall in 2015.

This is not the first time that Olivia Barry has appeared on our screens as part of the Great British Menu competition - previously taking part in 2018.

Olivia’s menu for the BBC 2 programme pays homage to larger-than-life figures such as Sir David Attenborough; as well as television shows like Casualty.

The restaurant has received high calibre recognition, including a 2 AA Rosette, a Michelin plate, and a place in the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants.
