A Christmas Carol is one of those stories that has been told so many times, you wonder if there is a new way to tell it.

But Celestial and Yuup have managed to pull it off with their new drone light show version of the timeless Charles Dickens’ classic.

On a cold night at Seat Unique Stadium, seeing hundreds of drones take to the sky felt like magic unfolding in front of my very eyes.

The drones sparkled in dazzling colours as they formed the most incredible shapes, including the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

To top it off, the show was narrated by the brilliant Matt Lucas, who brought the whole thing to life with his friendly and versatile voice.

It seemed the audience loved the show too, with the crowds in the stands giving the drones a roar of applause as they landed for the final time.

More than 60,000 across the UK saw Celestial's previous Evolution shows last year, and A Christmas Carol is just as spectacular.

Alongside the drone spectacle, the cricket ground has been turned into a fun fair of sorts with rides and food stands to enjoy in the lead-up to the performance.

There are many Christmas shows to enjoy in Bristol at this time of year, but A Christmas Carol is offering something truly different and is the most unique version of the story I’ve ever seen.

A Christmas Carol is showing at Seat Unique Stadium until Saturday, December 21. For tickets, visit www.yuup.co/a-christmas-carol
