Ramshackle Bristol: Legendary club night announces ‘Last Dance’ event after 20 years

The last ever Ramshackle will take place at the end of the month after 20 years of the legendary club night in Bristol, it has been announced.

The Friday night event at the O2 Academy has long been the go-to event for clubbers in the city looking for indie and dance music.

It is renowned for its Yo-Yo drinks - so much so that it held a Yo-Yo party last August.

But the organisers have announced the weekly night event will end will a final show January 28 - a move met with sadness by fans old and current.

Posting on the official Ramshackle Bristol page, the group behind it said ‘it’s time to move on’.

The full statement read: “The time has come... on Friday the 28th of January, we will be hosting our last ever Ramshackle.

“We have loved every single Friday with you guys and after a wild 20 years, it’s time to move on.

“We will also be hosting the incredible A1 x J1 to see us off in style so come and party with us one last time

“Tickets will be on sale from tomorrow at 6pm, and of course, are only £5

“Don’t be the one who misses out so make sure to get your ticket ASAP.”

Within three hours more than 1,000 people had reacted with comments before the Facebook posting.

Kiri Tredgett said: “So many great memories! I met my now husband at ramshackle 11 years ago!! Now pregnant with our first baby! So sad to see the doors close for the last time.”

Becca Turner wrote: “Sad times! many many good nights.”

DJ Patrick Nazemi thanked the organisers for giving a ‘platform every Friday for years’.

He said: “I’ll miss you so much Rams! Will raise a homemade Yo-Yo to you on Friday 28th.”
