Bristol Pride, a celebration of the LGBT+ community, is returning this summer.
Today (February 3), organisers have revealed that the festival will run over two weeks, from June 25 to July 10, including Pride Day on the Downs.

They say the programme of events will take place across venues in the city, ‘bringing the city alive with pride’.
They will include a dog show, comedy night, circus evening, theatre and Queer Vision Film Festival.

As for Pride Day on the Downs, there will be live music and entertainment, including from local artists and community groups as well as ‘the biggest names’, say the organisers.
The event on the Downs will feature the Pride Big Top, Youth Area, Family Zone and Community Area.

Eve Russell, festival director, said: “We are so excited to be working on delivering this year’s festival in person again and to be able to bring everyone back together to celebrate.
“The Pride Parade March will also make a physical return this year, louder and prouder than ever as we mark the 50th anniversary of the first pride march in the UK.
“The march is an integral part of what pride is and after two years of quiet streets, we’re excited to be filling the city with colour.
“It is a chance to be visible and, importantly, it serves as a reminder that the LGBT+ community continues to fight for equality.”

Organisers are encouraging attendees to purchase a Supporter Wristband.
Costing from £7, they help future events like Pride Day remain accessible to those who may not be able to afford to attend an exclusively ticketed event.
The programme of events will be released in the coming months.
