A stunning 19th century building in Bristol is now being illuminated nightly to show off its full glory.

The art installation at The Granary on Welsh Back has been switched on for the first time to coincide with the Bristol Light Festival, which runs until February 9, and will continue beyond.

The artwork has been created by Paula Birtwistle, a Weston-super-Mare artist and creator of the Glow Light Festival there.

Puja Chadha, owner of The Granary, said: “Famous as the site of Del Boy’s legendary fall in Only Fools and Horses, this iconic venue is just a minute from the dazzling installations at Queen Square and a perfect spot for those heading to the Only Fools and Horses musical at the Hippodrome, running until February 8.

“The Granary restaurant is open seven days a week from 8am to 9pm, serving beautifully cooked meat and vegetable dishes over an open fire, alongside sourdough flatbreads.

“Families can enjoy £3 flatbreads for kids throughout the festival and half-term.

“Hidden away downstairs, The Granary Club - Bristol’s best-kept secret bar - debuts Winter Blue Song, a striking limited-edition cocktail inspired by the glowing swing installation on Queen Square.

“Open Tuesday to Saturday, 5pm to 12:30am, the club offers classic and contemporary cocktails with music until late.”
