Where Bristol Rovers rank in the League One fair play table based on number of yellow and red cards

Bristol Rovers enjoyed a very positive start to life back in League One after winning promotion on the final day of the 2021-22 campaign. The Gas now sit eleventh in the third tier, however they have suffered three consecutive defeats.

English football can be known for rough tackles and plenty of tall and strong players - especially in the lower leagues - and it comes as no surprise to see the vast amount of red cards that have been handed out in League One so far. Despite some decent results for Joey Barton’s side, they have also picked up two red cards so far this season.

Alfie Kilgour was shown red against Ipswich Town in September, however the defender avoided suspension after Rovers won their appeal. Bobby Thomas was also sent off in the same game only seven minutes before, however he was less successful and was forced to serve his suspension.

We take a look at the League One fair play table so far this season according to Transfermarkt, with yellow cards counting as one point, second yellow as three points and a straight red as five points.
