The twenty-second snippet that has caught the eye of both Bristol Rovers and Newcastle United fans

Elliot Anderson made his debut for Bristol Rovers and a viral clip among Rovers fans has been going around on social media with the talented youngster putting a fantastic move together which almost ended in a goal.

The viral clip sees Anderson receive the ball in his own half before linking up with teammates and then ends with the midfielder taking the ball past two of the Sutton United players and having a shot on goal.

Elliot Anderson played a total 33 minutes and did not fail to impress. He came on to help earn his side a penalty with a through ball for Harry Anderson who was then fouled by goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis.

80% of the Newcastle United loanee’s passes were accurate as the midfielder completed a total 16 out of 20 passes, while he made 31 touches of the ball..

The teenager signed for Rovers on deadline day from Premier League club Newcastle United and has already made an immediate impact.

He was sent from the Magpies down to the Memorial Stadium after Joey Barton’s former teammate Shola Ameobi and Steve Harper suggested the move for him.

Their belief is that Anderson is a real talent and the pick of the crop, whilst both Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall have said that the Rovers loanee is of high quality.

After coming on as a substitute for Glenn Whelan, he earned rave reviews from Barton in how he conducted himself with the youngster is expected to make his first start this evening against Oldham.

Barton said: “You see it in his cameo on Saturday, his desire to get on the ball and take it in tight spaces. It’s what he’s shown us on the training ground in the past couple of days and he’s got a confidence about him.

“I think he’s going to be a real player and we’re delighted to help him at this point in this journey and no doubt he will help us.

“He’s clearly a really talented boy, he’s fit straight in with the group and he’s shown already in this morning’s training the quality he possesses, so we’re delighted to have him in our club.”

Anderson grew up in Newcastle and joined them at the age of eight years old. He made his senior debut for the club in an FA Cup third round tie against Arsenal which ended in a 2-0 loss for the Magpies.

On January 18, Anderson made his Premier League debut against the same opposition in a 3-0 defeat with the teenager coming on as a substitute in the 87th minute.
