Charlton Athletic midfielder to stay put

Charlton Athletic midfielder George Dobson has triggered a one-year extension clause in his contract, as per a report by the South London Press. The former Walsall and Sunderland man’s deal now runs until the summer of 2024. He has been a key player for the Addicks over the past couple of years and they will be pleased he isn’t due to become a free agent this year.

Plymouth Argyle make loan decision

Plymouth Argyle will be recalling goalkeeper Adam Parkes from his loan spell at Plymouth Parkway. The Pilgrims have been dealt a blow with number one stopper Mike Cooper sustaining an injury and will have to bring back the 23-year-old as cover for Callum Burton. Their boss Steven Schumacher has told the club website: “We’ll be recalling him, and he’ll be on the bench the weekend.”

Barnsley man extends spell away

Barnsley midfielder Joe Ackroyd has extended his loan spell at Buxton. The 20-year-old joined the National League North side in January to get some more experience under his belt. He has since made six appearances and has been given the green light to stay for longer to further boost his development.
