Latest Bristol Rovers transfer news as a medical takes place ahead of a double swoop.

Bristol Rovers are poised to make a double swoop for Taylor Moore and Ruel Sotiriou, according to two reports.

The Gas have been busy this week after confirming the arrivals of Isaac Hutchinson and Clinton Mola. Two more players are set to sign in what would be the third and fourth bit of business in the transfer window.

According to the Bristol Post, Rovers are 'closing in' on a deal to sign Sotiriou. He was offered a new contract by League One rivals Leyton Orient but is now pursuing a new challenge.

As he is under the age of 24-years-old, Rovers would be entitled to pay Orient compensation. He has been with the O's since he was a schoolboy, and because of that, the two clubs would have to negotiate a fee.

Sotiriou registered 11 goals and five assists in 42 league games for Orient last season and will provide an alternative attacking option to Matt Taylor. A gap was left after John Marquis left and now Chris Martin will have competition up top or the manager could find a way to incorporate the two in to his plans.

Elsewhere, Football Insider are reporting that Rovers have won the race to sign Taylor Moore on a free transfer. He is undergoing a medical at the Quarters training ground and will sign a three-year deal. Rovers have beaten off interest from Wycombe Wanderers, Barnsley and Wigan Athletic to land the defender.

Moore is a free agent after his contract with Valenciennes was cancelled. He has experience of playing in League One for Bury, Southend United, Blackpool and most recently Shrewsbury Town. The 27-year-old was previously on the books of inter-city rivals Bristol City and in the seven years he was contracted to the Robins, he made 60 appearances.

As well as two potential incomings, there is also the possibility that a few players will move on. Jordan Rossiter is expected to depart the Memorial Stadium according to the Bristol Post, despite receiving a new contract offer. The 27-year-old is assessing his options with clubs in leagues One and Two both keen on signing him.

Earlier today, news broke from the Bristol Post that a bid for Antony Evans had been rejected. Huddersfield Town made the offer for a player that is entering the final 12 months of his contract. It was reported in May that Championship outfit Pompey held an interest but BristolWorld understands that is no longer the case, freeing up the Terriers to make another move.
