Bristol Rovers in League One relegation battle

Bristol Rovers’ form has slumped at the worst possible time with only four fixtures left to play. They have lost their last six games in a row. Next up is an away trip to the Racecourse Ground to face automatic promotion chasing Wrexham before matches against Stevenage, Reading and Blackpool.

The Gas turned to Inigo Calderon as their manager after their decision to sack Matt Taylor. However, the Spaniard, who spent the majority of his playing days at Brighton and Hove Albion, has struggled for consistency. He has won six of his first 22 matches.

Speaking after their loss to Exeter, he said: “I’m really frustrated and disappointed. It’s difficult to explain because I think I had a great feeling during the week, even in the dressing room before the game. You think we have done everything and everything is in the right place, and after, the goals again, especially the first one that early, that killed us a little bit because we are not in the best moment of the season. You can see that. So, we are a bit weak mentally, and that’s normal, and that killed us. That killed us a lot.”
