Latest Bristol City transfer news as a former Robin could become a rival after being linked with a move back to England.

Norwich City are being linked with a move for former Bristol City attacker Niclas Eliasson, according to a report in his native Sweden.

Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt says Eliasson features on the Canaries transfer shortlist as well as PSV and Nantes and Brazilian side Gremio. It is added that it will cost between £3.4m to 4.3m to secure his services, with the 28-year-old currently playing his club football for Greek outfit AEK Athens.

Norwich are of course playing for a place in the Premier League with their play-off tie with Leeds United evenly poised after a goalless draw at Carrow Road. PSV won the Eredivise and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season whilst Nantes are safe for another season in Ligue One, having been close to the relegation zone.

A move to Brazil would be interesting as Eliasson has a Brazilian mother. Gremio are currently 12th in the top flight of Brazilian football but have all of their games suspended because of floods in the southern region of the country.

He has got eight goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season with Athens who stand a good chance of winning the Greek Super League. They are top with two more games to go and face Europa Conference League finalists Olympiacos as well as Lamia on the final day.

Eliasson was signed by City for a reported £1.8m from Swedish side IFK Norrköping in August 2017. He spent three seasons at Ashton Gate and in total made 95 appearances with 21 assists and seven goals. The Swedish winger was allowed to leave for French side Nimes Olympique on a permanent deal in October 2020 and had two seasons there, playing in both the French first and second division.
