Ex-Bristol City, Wrexham, Swansea City and Leeds Utd striker makes 19th career transfer

The 46-year-old shows no sign of stopping after joining a new club after seeking a 'new challenge'.

Former Bristol City striker Lee Trundle has confirmed his latest move, as he continues his 25-year playing career.

The 46-year-old is still going strong in football, and has decided to play on, after searching for a 'new challenge' following his exit from his previous club Ammanford, who play in the Cymru South, which is second tier of Welsh football. He has decided to drop down a division, and play with Mumbles Rangers, who play in the Ardal South West, which is the third tier of Welsh football.

Confirming the decision on Instagram, Trundle said: "Can't wait to get started @mujmblesrangers_fc fresh start and a new challenge ahead. Looking forward to the season and to working with @charlesmarch and the team x."

His move to Mumbles Rangers, makes them his 18th club of his 25-year playing career. He began his career at Burscough near his Liverpool-home, and worked his way up the non-league scene, before landing at Wrexham in the Football League following a prolific spell with Rhyl. He joined Neath following his departure from City, and then came back into professional football with Preston North End, but after just one appearance he joined Chester and then Marine, before taking a three-year hiatus. He joined Llanelli Town, Haverfordwest County and then Trefelin BGC, ebfore ending up at Ammanford in 2019.

Trundle was at Bristol City for three years, and got eight goals and two assists in 62 appearances. He joined in the summer of 2007 from Swansea City after being an integral part of the Welsh sides team, and in his first season helped the Robins get to the Championship play-off final, scoring against Crystal Palace. He was unable to build on his six goals at Ashton Gate however, and joined Leeds United on loan in January 2009, and then rejoined Swansea City in the summer.

The former Preston North End striker most recently was competing for a prize of $1m, representing his former club Wrexham in 'The Soccer Tournament' which was held in North Carolina. He played alongside former Hull City and Peterborough United forward George Boyd, as well as Paul Rutherford and Mark Howard. The Dragons got to the Round of 16 after inflicting a heavy 12-0 defeat on a United States Women's team that included Heather O'Reilly, who appeared recently in Soccer Aid, as well as familar players like Cat Whitehill, Lori Lindsey and Kristine Lilly.

As for former Bristol City footballers in the Welsh system, Mark Little is preparing to play European football for the first time in his career. The 34-year-old plays for Penybont, and they qualified for the qualifying rounds of the Europa Conference League. Their qualifying campaign begins on Thursday, July 13, and will find out their opponents next Tuesday. Little was an EFL Trophy and League One winner during his time at Ashton Gate, and later went on to join inter-city rivals Bristol Rovers, before moving on to Yeovil Town.
