Cardiff City hope to sign striker

Cardiff City are hoping to complete a deal to sign striker Connor Wickham this week. The former Premier League man is a free agent after leaving League One side Forest Green Rovers last month. The Bluebirds’ boss Sabri Lamouchi has said, as per Wales Online: “I hope he will sign very quickly. I hope to have him for Birmingham City. Let me talk about the players who are available for the club. As soon as he signs we will put him in the squad. How he can help us. He is just a Championship player, with his experience, his goals and he is strong and has quality as well.”

Ex-Sheffield United boss speaks to the Saints

Former Sheffield United and Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder has spoken to Southampton about their vacant managerial position. However, their interest is not expected to go any further according to reporter Alex Crook. The 55-year-old left Boro in October and is weighing up his next move in the game.

Coventry City tie up deal

Coventry City defender Kyle McFadzean has extended his contract until the summer of 2024. The 36-year-old was due to see his deal expire at the end of this season. However, he will be sticking around with the Sky Blues for a bit longer now.
