Bristol City’s last 12 January permanent signings and where they are now
The last 12 permanent signings Bristol City have made in the January transfer window
Bristol City have often resisted from doing too much permanent business in the January transfer window and this month hasn’t been any different. The Robins have welcomed one new signing, with Nikita Haikin joining on a free transfer after he was released by Bodo/Glimt.
However, following the disappointing departure of Antoine Semenyo to Bournemouth for over £10m, it could be an interesting few days on Ashton Gate. Though the Robins certainly don’t want to risk panic-buying, especially given a recent history of poor buys in the winter window.

5. Bailey Wright - 2017
The centre-back joined the Robins from Preston North End and was named captain ahead of the following season. After making 83 appearances for the Robins, Wright was released and later joined Sunderland, where he won promotion back to the Championship.

6. Jens Hegeler - 2017
The German joined Bristol City from Hertha Berlin six years ago but lasted only eleven months before the club confirmed he was to leave by mutual consent. Hegeler has since retired from professional football.

7. Milan Djuric - 2017
The forward joined Bristol City from Italian side Cesena in January 2017. He netted four goals in 27 Championship appearances before returning to Italy with Salernitana in 2018.

8. Matty Taylor - 2017
Taylor joined from Bristol Rovers in 2017 after the Robins activated his £300,000 release clause. The striker’s time at Ashton Gate was less successful than with their rivals, scoring only eight goals in 75 matches before joining Oxford United.
