The striker will now spend the upcoming season with the Exiles as he makes the third loan move of his career after spending short spells with Yeovil Town and Chippenham Town over the last year.

Speaking about his latest addition, Newport manager Graham Coughlan told the club website: “Seb is a great young lad, and he’s got lots of potential. He has fantastic mobility, he’s a very natural finisher and his commitment and attitude fits our DNA perfectly.

“He is a good size and has a good physique to match it. We were lacking in that position [forward] so I’m glad we can bring Seb in to help fill it.”

Newport will kick off their League Two season with a visit to Accrington Stanley on the first Saturday of August.

Boro set to miss out on former loan star

Middlesbrough’s hopes of making Ryan Giles a permanent member of their squad appeared to have been dashed.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Riverside Stadium as Michael Carrick’s men secured a play-off place before a semi-final defeat against Coventry City ended any thoughts of promotion.

However, Giles now appears to be on the brink of securing a move into the Premier League after the Daily Mail reported he is set to join top flight newcomers Luton Town in a deal worth around £5million.
