Bristol City search for just their second home league win of the season as they host Stoke City at Ashton Gate in the EFL Championship.

The Robins are back amongst their own supporters after a narrow 1-0 defeat to league leaders Leicester City at the King Power Arena last weekend. Nigel Pearson's side got knocked out of the Carabao Cup and that's given them some respite to nurse a few injuries.

Stoke meanwhile suffered a 2-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth, and named a side with the weekend in mind. Alex Neil's side are 20th in the league, and need to pick up their form following a strong summer recruitment drive.

He has been affected by several injuries to some of his key players, and that could push him in to making some decisions when naming his team on Saturday.

Here's the latest injury and team news ahead of the EFL Championship clash between Bristol City and Stoke City:

The 26-year-old missed the defeat to Leicester City last week because of a knee injury, and there was a worry it was similar to what Rob Atkinson suffered, but in an update he will only be out for between four to six weeks.

Last season’s top scorer Tommy Conway is making positive steps towards a return. He participated in full-contact sessions this week after sustaining a hamstring injury, and is now pushing for an inclusion in a match-day squad before the international break.

Ayman Benarous is a player that City are carefully monitoring following back-to-back ACL injuries. He suffered a leg injury that has ruled him out for the last month.

Rob Atkinson is another player that has been dealing with an ACL injury, having been stretchered off against Sunderland in February. The centre-back has continued to rehabilitate and could make a return to action before the end of the year.

Summer signing Ross McCrorie meanwhile underwent successful surgery for an issue that he picked up during pre-season. He is yet to make his competitive debut for the club, and is recovering from an infection.

Out: Ayman Benarous, Rob Atkinson, Ross McCrorie, Tommy Conway and Zak Vyner.

Stoke City injury news

The Potters have been dealt a blow after Tyrese Campbell was revealed to have picked up an injury.

A hamstring problem forced him off against Hull City last week and he could potentially miss the rest of the Championship fixtures before the international break.

Ryan Mmamee has a hamstring problem, and has missed the last five matches. The 25-year-old joined this summer but has yet to find the back of the net in the league.

Enda Stevens hasn’t made an appearance this term and has a calf problem. The 33-year-old joined in the summer but has endured a frustrating start to life with Stoke.

Wouter Burger has a slight hamstring problem, and did not feature against the Cherries in midweek. He could have rested to give him a better chance of playing this weekend.

Out: Enda Stevens, Ryan Mmaee, and Tyrese Campbell. Doubtful: Wouter Burger.
