Liam Manning says Rob Dickie will be fit to return to Bristol City action for the Robins’ visit to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

The defender has missed City’s last three matches with a calf problem but is set to be ready to feature in their final three games of the campaign, against Norwich, Rotherham United and Stoke City.

“I expect him to train Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and be available for the weekend,” Manning said after City’s draw against Huddersfield Town.

Dickie is not the only central defender who has been absent for City of late. Zak Vyner missed out on the Robins’ draw with the Terriers with a knee injury which will see him miss the match at Carrow Road.

Rob Atkinson hasn’t featured this season as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury, while Kal Naismith’s minutes have been scarce due to ongoing injury niggles in his hamstring and calf.

George Tanner deputised in the centre of the back three admirably against Huddersfield, but Dickie’s return will provide some much-needed experience and additional height for aerial duels.

“He (Dickie) was out on the grass yesterday (Friday), it was just the fact that he’d only done one session,” Manning added.

“He had shingles and he was ill the day before the Leicester match, he’s hardly done anything in the last four weeks to be fair.”

The Robins travel to Norwich before hosting Rotherham in their penultimate game of the season, as Manning’s side round off their campaign with a trip to the Potters on Saturday, May 4.
