Liam Manning says Bristol City will be boosted by the return of Matty James and Joe Williams for the Robins' match against Championship high flyers Leicester City on Friday.

James has missed the Robins' last five matches with an achilles problem, while Williams was left out of the side that was defeated by West Brom with a slight hamstring injury.

"Yeah, they're still on track (for Friday)," Manning told Bristol City. "Jamo is a little ahead of Joe, Jamo is in full training so we'll see how he is and Joe's doing some training as well, so hopefully by the end of the week we'll see them."

The international break has aided the midfield duo's returns to fitness, but Manning will have to consider the sharpness of his players that have been representing their countries.

Tommy Conway and Dire Mebude have been on Scotland duty, while Jason Knight and Mark Sykes have been representing the Republic of Ireland.

He added: "Tommy and Dire are back in and Knighty and Sykesy play tomorrow night so that brings a different challenge depending on the game.

"They'll return on Wednesday but with playing Tuesday and then Friday, it's not an ideal schedule but it's the same for everyone, we''ll have to make a decision and see."

Scott Twine came off the bench against the Baggies for his first City game since his debut against Watford in January.

The creative talent is another who has built up his match fitness over the last 10 days, and could start against the Foxes.

"He did the full week training last week and was excellent, I'm looking forward to seeing him in training today and tomorrow, he'll be in contention for Friday."
