Hide AdThat is according to Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath who tweeted on Thursday: "#BristolCity are interested in #LincolnCity full-back Regan Poole who will leave his club when his contract expires next month." McGrath is the reporter that broke the news of Anis Mehmeti joining the Robins on Deadline Day, and talks could begin in the next few weeks.
Poole is leaving Lincoln City with his contract expiring at the end of June, and he will soon be free to discuss terms with clubs interested in taking him on next season. Ryan Whelan, a journalist from the Real EFL states that no City talks have yet been held with the player, though that is to be expected given the season has only just concluded, and the news of him leaving Sincil Bank has only broke this week.
In a parting statement on Twitter, Poole posted: "I would like to thank everyone associated with @LincolnCity_FC for the last 2 and a half years. I have loved every single minute of representing this incredible club and I wish you all the very best for the future. It’s been an absolute pleasure."

Hide AdPoole is a right-back by trade, but can also play at centre-back which is the versatility that Nigel Pearson looks for in signing new players. The 24-year-old was a target for the Robins back in 2015 when he was breaking through at Newport County, but he ended up joining Manchester United.
He made 56 appearances for the Imps this season and scored three goals, which included the winning goal against Bristol Rovers, as well as registering four assists. Poole was the captain for Lincoln this year, and featured in their 3-1 win over the Robins in the Carabao Cup tie played back in December. For most of the season he played as a right-sided centre-back in a back three.
During Poole's two-and-a-half years with Lincoln he missed just three league matches, which shows that he has been lucky with avoiding injury. He has yet to play in the Championship but has made 250 senior appearances in professional football, which has mainly came at League One level.
