Bristol City managed to pick up a point over the weekend, while Rovers were not so successful.

The Robins drew with Sunderland to as they look to make up ground on the top six, while Rovers lost to Burton Albion, leaving them in 15th and nine points above the relegation zone. Both sides should comfortably avoid the drop this season, but they are going to need to get a move on if they hold greater ambitions.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the two clubs as they prepare to return to action this weekend.

Scott links

City star Alex Scott continues to be linked with a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace and West Ham are the two teams with the most serious interest, although it is claimed that City would not budge over their £25million valuation of their starlet during January, putting a number of clubs off. The report claims that valuation could drop in the summer, but at £20million at the lowest.

Still, Palace and West Ham are said to be keen, albeit the Hammers will need to stay up first given their battle with the drop.

Rovers Stadium plans

Bristol Rovers CEO Tom Gorringe has confirmed the club are consulting designs as they look to build a new stand ahead of next season.

“The Mem continues to be a challenge for us as we must continually balance the need for us to improve the facilities whilst keeping consideration of managing investment sensibly to not waste money, as our aims are to move away from the site,” Gorringe wrote in his programme notes last week.

“One area that was discussed within the board minutes was the desire for us to look to replace the South Stand for the new season with a new stand. This new stand would increase the capacity of the stadium and the proportion of the stadium that would be seated.

“The aim, if possible, would be to replace both the South and the South West stands with a new single stand with a solid roof, leaving us with no tented stands and an improved experience. We are in the process of getting surveys and 3D drawings completed and, as soon as they are in place, we will share them with supporters.”
