Liam Manning gave a full Bristol City injury round-up ahead of the Robins' trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, with detailed updates on Nahki Wells, Ross McCrorie and Andy King.

Wells has been missing for eight matches with an ankle injury, while summer signing McCrorie is yet to play for City after a bacterial infection forced him to have a lengthy spell out. King has been out since late October.

The manager gave an update on Wells but didn't specify whether he is in contention to play any part this weekend.

"Nahki has been out on the grass this week," he said. "It's hard to put a definitive number of days on it, you have to see how he responds to certain steps in the rehab process. Hopefully, he will continue to head in the right direction."

Another member of the squad back on the grass is McCrorie. the defender signed for the Robins for a hefty £2 million at the start of the season, but has been unfortunate with a rare injury.

Manning insisted that he won't be up to speed for a while yet, but he is making steady strides. "Encouraging progress definitely," the 38-year-old said.

"He's building, and you have to remember how long he has been out. It's the conditioning work that he will need that will be massive. He's heading in the right direction, touch wood, and long may that continue because he'll be a terrific asset to get back."

The manager also gave a positive update on veteran midfielder King: "He did a tiny bit of ball work with the group today in terms of tight area stuff. With a hamstring injury what you can't do is open him up, so we've managed to integrate him a tiny bit this week.

"He's still a few weeks away but it's great to see him out there as well and having him around."

Additionally, Manning confirmed that Mark Sykes is available for selection and that his substitution off against Norwich was due to minutes played, while Haydon Roberts will miss out on the Terriers match. Kal Naismith and Rob Atkinson remain sidelined, whilst Ayman Benarous suffered a setback in his recovery last month.
