It has been a disappointing start to the season for City, though, such is the Championship, they are still closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone, and there is plenty of time to close the gap.

As Nigel Pearson and his men pick up the pieces from their seventh defeat of the season, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding City and their Championship rivals.

Take a look below.

Conway problem

Crystal Palace are said to be eyeing a move for City star Tommy Conway. According to Football League World, the young Robin has become a target of the Eagles, but their plan wouldn’t leave City short in the short term.

According to the report, Palace would like to sign Conway with the idea of loaning him straight back to Ashton Gate for him to continue his development. Concerningly, though, it’s claimed Antoine Semenyo is also a target for the Premier League club.

Contract talks

Elsewhere, Birmingham City are in talks to extend goalkeeper John Ryddy’s contract beyond this season.

According to BBC WM, the Blues are discussing terms with the 36-year-old, hoping to keep him around for at least next season.

Ruddy joined on a relatively short-term deal but he has already impressed, keeping four clean sheets in 13 games. Birmingham boss John Eustace has said: “He’s been very, very good on and off the pitch. He’s got great experience, he’s been promoted from the Championship. We’re very fortunate to have a player of his experience at the football club.”
