Bristol City could boost play-off push by signing these free agents - including Rangers title hero
Bristol City are enjoying a solid season in the Championship this term. They are level on points with sixth placed West Brom and just two points behind fifth placed Coventry City in what promises to be an intriguing final run-in between now and the end of the season.
The Robins alongside Preston and QPR and barring a two-year stint between 2013 and 2015 have spent every season since 2007 in the second tier of English football.

The Ashton Gate faithful of this generation will hope to see those days again and they could well boost their chances of achieving that feat with a dip into the free agent market to enhance their squad with some fresh faces to give the team a short-term boost. With that in mind, Bristol World has taken a look at some of the feasible free agent targets the Robins could move for including a former Europa League finalist.
Ryan Kent - last club Fenerbache
Liverpool academy graduate Ryan Kent has been without a club since October 2024 when his contract was mutually ended by Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
The 28-year-old, who was once an England Under-20 international, struggled for form, fitness and game time in the Turkish capital, but still has a wealth of experience in his locker from spells at Barnsley, Coventry and even briefly Bristol City during the 2017/18 season.

He’s blessed with excellent pace, an eye for goal and may well still have a point to prove with Jurgen Klopp once describing him as a ‘wonderful player.’
Former Red Devils left-back Brandon Williams was tipped to have a big future when he burst onto the scene at Old Trafford as a teenager in 2019/20 with 17 first team appearances. The 24-year-old struggled to build on his initial promise and was relegated with Norwich during a loan spell in 2021/22.
He last featured for the Canaries’ arch rivals Ipswich during a loan spell in the Championship and played second fiddle to Leif Davis at Portman Road as Kieran McKenna’s men secured back-to-back promotions. With George Tanner out injured, Williams could potentially offer vital cover in the final furlong of the campaign.
